What Makohai does
- Six lanes of lead, arp, pad, bass, drums and sfx compose parts live in eighteen styles.
- You mix rather than program: queue a style, blend it in lane by lane, or launch it at once.
- Sixty-eight FM patches, six drum kits, a supersaw, a choir aah, an orchestra hit and eight noise sounds.
- Each lane can carry your own part of up to 512 bars, entered in scale steps from the chord root.
- RECORD plays the keys straight into the part, with an effect column, undo, transpose, shift and range tools.
- PLAY runs an INTRO and an END, a tap on REC is an INTER and holding it is a DROP.
- SAVE keeps every setting, all parts and the setup, and eight sets load a whole mix while playing.
- USB-MIDI sends the lanes' notes and settings, takes notes in, and follows or sends clock and transport.
Its modes
- PLAY
- Set each lane's volume, style, sound, melody, rhythm, pitch, density, octave and how soon new material comes.
- SOUND
- Shape reverb, filter, resonance, wobble, brightness, drive, crush, vary and mutate per lane.
- TRACKER
- Apply tracker effects per lane: pan, autopan, swing, echo, slide, porta, vibrato, tremolo, tremor, gate and retrigger.
- SONG
- Queue the next style, blend, set energy, space, key, scale, chords, the arc and the eight sets.
- EDIT
- Write a lane's own part bar by bar with notes, an effect column, bar and range tools.
- SETUP
- Choose colours, screen level, lights, MIDI channels and sync, background pictures, defaults and the voice budget.
- DEMO
- Fill the screen with pictures that cut on the bar line while the music plays on.
