What X0X-RMX does
- Play a 909, an 808, two 303s and a breakbeat player together in stereo.
- White keys write steps and black keys pick drum tracks or break slices, with ENV for accents.
- Grids writes kick, snare and closed hat rhythms, while TB-3PO generates 303 lines in 22 scales.
- Remix reorders a part's playback by bank and pattern without rewriting its stored steps.
- Record knob moves, give single steps a sound of their own, and set each step's chance of playing.
- Arrange up to 192 bars into a song, then shape it with reverb, tape delay and master compression.
- AUTOSAVE keeps the project once you stop, and USB carries MIDI, stereo audio and project backup.
Its modes
- EDIT
- Shape the selected part's sound, and hold a step while turning a knob to give that step its own value.
- SEQ
- See the selected part's steps with its LENGTH and RATE, plus DIRECTION and TRANSPOSE on a 303.
- GRIDS
- Write and mutate kick, snare and closed hat rhythms for the 909 or 808 using MAP or EUCLID, FILL and OFFSET.
- TB-3PO
- Generate and mutate 303 lines, setting density, accent, slide, octave range, root and scale.
- HOME
- See all five parts at once, choose and chain patterns, mute parts, and set tempo and swing.
- SONG
- Write and record bars that say which pattern each part plays and which parts are muted.
- FX
- Set the reverb's decay and tone and the delay's time, feedback, tone and tape character.
- PARTS
- Set each part's level, pan and reverb and delay sends, with a meter for each.
- MASTER
- Set drive, compression, pump and filter over the whole mix and watch the output level.
- GLOBAL
- Change settings such as MIDI channels, lights, LCD scheme and autosave, and save, clear or reset the project.
