What Vector37 does
- Four corners each hold two overtone generators, a blend and a filter, and a moon circling a sun decides how much of each you hear.
- Thirty-two factory sounds cover pads, strings, choir, organ, keys, basses, sequences, brass, leads, wind and drums, each one a whole scene.
- ALGORITHM picks a planet, and the four knobs across two pages shape its generators, tuning, blend, modulation, cutoff, resonance and level.
- Hold EDIT and the lowest sixteen keys to select corners, step their modulation and filter types, and mute them.
- Play the twenty-seven keys, with REC latching notes, SEQ freezing the orbit, GLO focusing and SAVE randomizing the selected planets.
- Vector37 keeps no store of its own on the FM-1, so another firmware's projects and settings stay as they were.
Its modes
- PAGE 1: KNOBS 1-4
- KNOB 1 to 4 hold the first four jobs of whatever is in play: a planet's GEN 1, GEN 2, TUNE 2 and BLEND, or the orbit's WARP, WARP Y, ROTATE and CONTRAST.
- PAGE 2: KNOBS 5-8
- The same four knobs give the second row: MODE, CUTOFF, RESO and LEVEL for a planet, or MOON DIST, SPIN, WIDTH and MOON SPEED for the orbit.
- PAGE 3: the PATH
- KNOB 1 to 4 set the path's FAMILY, SIZE, SPEED and MORPH.
- PAGE 4: the WAVE set
- KNOB 1 to 4 set WT POS 1, WT ORBIT 1, WT POS 2 and WT ORBIT 2 for the selected planet's wavetables.
- VOICE
- ENV opens attack, decay, sustain, release, detune, glide, the voice mode and stereo.
- MIXER
- FX opens reverb, delay, chorus, drive, reverb size, delay time, feedback and volume.
- MORE
- LFO opens tune 1, key tracking, filter type, drive colour, chorus depth and speed, reverb colour and audition.
- ARP
- ARP opens the arpeggiator's mode, BPM, the orbit envelope and the bend range.
What Les checked
Vector37 0.3.2Scanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file matches the checksum the FM-1 Firmware Hub records for this version
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.
