What Unholy Union does
- Immaculate Permutation builds a four track ambient project in one key: pad, sequence, chord arpeggio and an empty track for you.
- Thirteen engines cover ANALOG, FM6, PHASE, LOFI, SAMPLE, VOICE, TRIO, WHEEL, GRAIN, PHYS, NOISE, SLICE and DRUM.
- The DRONE page latches a played chord with HOLD, then moves it with EVOL, TENS and a bar-length RAMP.
- Hold ENV and press OCT+ to evolve the harmony, or LFO and OCT+ to add slow modulation across all four tracks.
- AUTO EVOLVE under SYSTEM shifts the harmony every 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 24 or 32 bars while PLAY runs.
- Hold SAVE for just over a second to keep the current project as SERMON A to D, and hold OCT- to undo the last rite.
- The Choir Loft editor and the Altar of Four Winds macro desk connect over USB for editing, live macro moves, project export and Ark backups.
- The instrument plays through its speaker or analog output, and records into a computer over USB in stereo.

Unholy Union v0.2.3Scanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file is exactly the one its author published
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.
