What tonic-fm1 does
- Four tracks share twelve voices, each track running four-operator FM with eight algorithms, virtual analog, or a kit of eight synthesized drums.
- The sequencer holds up to 64 steps a track with parameter locks, sound locks, trig conditions, micro timing and retrig.
- Every voice has overdrive, LO-FI, two filters, an insert effect, two LFOs and a modulation envelope.
- Chorus, delay, reverb, a master compressor, a DJ filter and sidechain ducking shape the whole mix.
- Hold HOME for mutes, fills, chains, tap tempo, loop rolls, tape stop, filter sweeps and reverb freeze.
- TONIC saves by itself once the sequencer stops and the sound dies away, keeping 32 patterns, a pool and a library.
- USB MIDI in and out plus TRS in carry notes, clock and control, and any track can play an external instrument.
Its modes
- SEQ
- Set a trig's note, velocity, length and condition, and reach the piano roll, retrig, euclidean and track length pages.
- EDIT
- Shape the sound's engine: the FM operators and algorithm, the VA oscillators, or a drum kit's eight pads.
- ENV
- Set the filters, the amp envelope, drive, pan, volume, the effect sends, LO-FI and the insert effect.
- LFO
- Set the two LFOs and the modulation envelope and point them at any destination.
- FX
- Dial in chorus, delay, reverb, the mixer with its DJ filter, ducking and the master compressor.
- ARP
- Set the arpeggiator's mode, speed, range and steps, and the sound's chords and scale.
- GLO
- Set tempo, swing, scales, voices, sound setup, portamento, modulation routings, song mode, theme and MIDI.
- HOME
- See the pattern, the four tracks and the steps, with track levels on the knobs and tempo on SELECT.
- PERFORM
- Hold HOME to pick patterns and chains, mute tracks, throw fills, sweep the DJ filter and fire momentary effects.
- SAVE
- Write the project, store sounds to the library or pool, reload, copy, paste or clear a pattern.
