What Ravel does
- Four synth tracks carry thirteen engines, including virtual analog, a full Casio CZ, four-operator FM, wavetable, physical models, organ and tines.
- Strike tracks hit resonant bodies with exciters, and any track can become a drum machine with 33 machines in four families.
- Each track sequences in STEPS or GRAPH mode, with parameter locks, microtiming, ratchets, conditions, chance and a EUCLID page.
- An 8 by 8 influence grid lets any track modulate, trigger, excite, ring, clock or spark any other.
- Shared buses give you a granular tape delay, a 12-bit space, a feedback loop and a dusty BED.
- Two LFOs, dust, an eight-slot matrix and four macros move parameters; hold LFO and turn KNOB 1 to 4 to ride macros.
- Save whole projects into 32 slots and your own sounds into four banks, with 16 scenes and a 32-row arrangement.
- MIDI notes, clock, mod wheel, aftertouch and pitch bend come in over USB and the TRS jack.
Its modes
- HOME
- See all eight tracks at a glance, set each track's kind and engine, and draw the influence grid.
- EDIT
- Shape the current track's voice: engine source pages, pitch, filter, skin, insert, mix and sends.
- ENV
- Set how a note starts, holds and ends, plus the FILTER ENV and the library of step envelopes.
- LFO
- Build modulation with the matrix, the two LFOs, dust and the four macros.
- FX
- Dial in the shared buses: delay, space, BED, feedback and master, with each track's send.
- SCL
- Choose root, scale, transpose and the track's note interval.
- ARP
- Turn on the current track's arpeggiator and set mode, rate, octaves, hold, gate, repeat and chance.
- SEQ
- Write steps, tempo, timing, ratchets and track settings, or draw the graph and its two playheads.
- GLO
- Mix tracks, set the clock and MIDI in, launch scenes, build the arrangement and watch the load.
- SAVE
- Store and load projects in 32 slots, and keep your own sounds in four banks.
