What OPN-1 does
- OPN-1 runs accurate recreations of the Mega Drive's YM2612 FM chip and SN76489 PSG on the FM-1.
- You play the chips from the FM-1's own keys and knobs, or over MIDI.
- A library holds 128 FM patches in 4 banks of 32, stepped through with PRESETS.
- Single plays the selected patch with up to six notes at once.
- Layer stacks up to six patches, each with its own volume and triggered at the key, after a delay or on release.
- Split gives each MIDI channel its own patch for a sequencer.
- Knob pages edit the sound, each operator, the envelopes, LFO, vibrato, detune and arpeggiator, and SAVE keeps the patch in its slot.
- The web app fills the library from .opm banks or a game's VGM songs, exports banks, and streams whole songs to the FM-1.
