What NoteSorcery does
- FELT gives a felt piano, DROPLET plays plucks that drop pitch-jumping echoes, and NOISE builds foley bursts from nothing.
- ANALOG, SAMPLE, PHYS, GRAIN, VOICE and WAVE cover subs, pads, guitars, choirs, grain clouds and glass tones.
- Press REC and play to record live, overdubbing each pass, or hold SEQ and tap steps on the white keys.
- Every track holds up to sixty-four steps with nudge, ratchets, parameter locks and fill conditions.
- The PERFORM and SKY pages put BLOOM, DROPS, FOLEY, GLTCH, WTHR, BREEZE, DRIFT and FILT on four colour-coded knobs.
- Hold GLO with a black key for BREAK, FREEZE or GLITCH, and the DROP lands on the next bar.
- SAVE stores sections A to D and four projects, and the browser editor over USB exports an Ableton Live Set.
Its modes
- GARDEN
- Watch the eight tracks as plants that grow, bloom and wilt as you play, with rain, stars and a pond.
- TRACKS
- The performance view, where you pick a track and set its level, pan, swing and step count.
- PERFORM
- Four big macros on the knobs: BLOOM, DROPS, FOLEY and GLTCH.
- SKY
- Tape weather, a slow random breeze, a tempo to drift to and the DJ filter.
- PRESETS
- Browse every factory sound by mood instead of by instrument, then your own user presets.
- FEEL
- Set HUMAN timing and velocity movement, and shape how ratchets climb, bounce or randomise.
- DRUMS
- Edit the grid of sixteen drum sounds across the steps, or play the pads and pick a kit.
- SONG
- Chain sections A to D into a song and set how many bars each step plays.
What Les checked
NoteSorcery botanica-v0.3Scanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file is exactly the one its author published
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.

Les scans every firmware here whose file is public, and shows what it checked and what it found. A scan lowers the risk; it can't rule it out. This firmware is made by its author, not by Les or M-VAVE. Back up first, and install at your own risk. How Les scans firmware
