What Modular-1 does
- You build patches module by module in a web app and upload them to the FM-1.
- A modular synth engine runs the patch you made, alongside a complex arpeggiator.
- Every module has two parameter inputs, p1 and p2, each with an attenuverter.
- A matrix maps p1 and p2 plus k1-4 onto module parameters, with p1 and p2 global and k1-4 active on the selected module.
- PRESETS scrolls through the patches and SELECT scrolls through the modules in the current patch.
- KNOB1 to KNOB4 control whatever the patch assigns to them.
- ARP, SEQ and LFO open the arpeggiator's melody, rhythm and chaos pages, and HOME returns to the patch.
Its modes
- melody page
- Set the arpeggiator's mode, scale, root note and speed with ARP.
- rhythm page
- Set euclidean steps, pulses, rotation and rate with SEQ.
- chaos page
- Add randomness and choose how many octaves the arpeggio spans with LFO.
- main page
- Return to the patch's main page with HOME.
