What masif-fm1 does

  • MASIF turns the FM-1 into a 4-track sample tracker and rack sampler.
  • You write songs on the FM-1 in rows and columns: songs hold chains, chains hold phrases, phrases hold 16 rows of notes and effects.
  • It ships with no sounds, so every sample comes from you.
  • There are 128 instruments with tables, grooves, envelopes, LFOs, a side chain, a filter, drive and EQ.
  • Sample memory holds 24 samples, about 19 seconds at 26 kHz 12 bit or about 108 seconds at 13 kHz 4-bit ADPCM.
  • The sampler page records the computer's sound over USB or a bounce of your own mix.
  • USB audio runs both ways between the FM-1 and the computer.
  • The web page lets you drop in sound files, trim, loop and fade them, then SYNC POOL sends them over, with BACKUP and RESTORE for everything stored.
