What LOOM-8 does
- Eight tracks play ten engines: six synths, a sample player, a break slicer, a drum kit and MIDI out.
- A 64-step sequencer gives each track eight patterns, fifteen step tricks, parameter locks and up to four notes per step.
- Weave crosses two patterns live: bar by bar, step by step, or one's rhythm with the other's pitch.
- The conductor moves every following track through a key, scale and chord progression you play or sequence.
- Throws fire momentary mute, stutter, repeat, echo, build, floor and jumble effects from the keys while it plays.
- Thirty-two scenes, a song chain, a mixer, two send effects and a master with EQ, compressor and pump.
- It saves by itself when stopped, and MIDI arrives over USB, Bluetooth and the TRS jack.
Its modes
- Arrange
- See every track's pattern and playhead, switch scenes on the white keys, mute tracks on the black keys and set the tempo and groove.
- Song
- Chain scenes into slots and set how many bars each one plays, looping or stopping at the end.
- Steps
- Write notes, chords and drum sounds onto the sixteen cells of a bar, and hold a step for its velocity, length, chance, pitch, tricks and locks.
- Bar
- Set quantise, new note length, groove and shape, and jump to or loop the pattern's bars.
- Engine
- Pick the track's engine and preset and turn its four sound knobs.
- Envelope
- Shape the amp envelope, and on a drum track the attack, hold, decay and lag of each key.
- Character
- Give the track its own drive, fold, crush, ring, tilt, tape or sampler colour.
- Players
- Choose how the keys play the track: arp, strum or hold, with their own settings.
- Weave
- Cross the track's pattern with another track's pattern by bars, steps, rhythm or pitch.
- Mix
- Set each track's sends, pan and level, mute or solo tracks, and reach the master and Setup pages.
