What GR!MM does

  • Four tracks share six voices, each with its own sound, sequence and send into the shared effects.
  • Seven sources cover analog-style, six-operator FM, sample loops, formant voice, tonewheel organ, physical models and phase distortion.
  • Forty factory sounds in eight categories load from the PRESETS knob, with sixty-four slots for your own.
  • Each track runs a 64-step pattern with chance, ratchets, note lengths, step locks and tools like random and mutate.
  • Hold SEL for one-key chords, set a scale so every key stays in tune, and latch notes into drones.
  • Tape, grain, delay and reverb colour the whole mix, with reverb reaching about thirty-two seconds or infinite.
  • Saving happens on its own once the sequencer stops and the sound dies away, so the FM-1 returns as you left it.
  • Connect over USB for MIDI in and out, sequencer and arp output, MIDI learn and audio into your computer.
