What Golana DZ Edition does
- Golana DZ Edition turns the FM-1 into one analog-style synth with two oscillators, five filters, two envelopes, two LFOs and a patch bay.
- The MS20 filter is a driven 12 dB low-pass whose resonance screams, and a wavefolder sits on the mix before it.
- The step sequencer runs 64 steps with rests, ties, accents and slides, plus length, resolution, gate and swing.
- Song mode chains program slots with FIRST and LAST selection and plays them ONCE or on REPEAT.
- Thirty-two program slots hold up to 2,048 steps, with sixteen factory sounds like FAT BASS, ACID LINE and S&H TEXTURE.
- Six arpeggiator types run over one to four octaves with latch, swing and steps you switch on and off.
- SELECT walks the pages, KNOB 1 to 4 move the four cards, ALGORITHM grabs cutoff anywhere and PRESETS loads programs.
Its modes
- HOME
- Play and perform with cutoff, resonance, EG int and LFO 1 rate on the four knobs while the screen draws the sound.
- EDIT
- Set OSC 1, OSC 2 and the mixer, with each oscillator drawing its wave.
- SCL
- Choose the filter type and set cutoff, resonance, EG int and key track.
- ENV
- Shape the filter envelope and the amp envelope with attack, decay, sustain and release.
- LFO
- Set the two LFOs and wire the four patch slots from source to destination.
- GLO
- Reach amp, voice, global tempo and clock, and setup for FX order, palette and the home drawing.
- REC
- Write the step sequencer pattern and set its length, resolution, gate and swing.
- SEQ
- Set up the arpeggiator: type, range, timing, latch and which steps are on.
- FX
- Dial in the mod FX, delay and reverb.
What Les checked
Golana DZ Edition v0.1.0-betaScanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file is exactly the one its author published
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.
