What GATOR does
- Twenty-four synthesis models across three banks cover virtual analog, waveshaping, FM, formant, wavetable, chords, speech, granular, noise, physical models and drums.
- An eight-slot modulation matrix routes LFOs, envelope, velocity, note, mod wheel, aftertouch, random and gate to pitch, timbre, model and level.
- PLAY switches between GATE for held notes, TRIG for plucked percussive hits and DRONE for continuous sound.
- You play the keys monophonically with last-note priority, HOLD to keep notes sounding, and OCT− / OCT+ for six octaves.
- USB-MIDI and TRS MIDI in bring notes, mod wheel, aftertouch, pitch bend and knob control from outside.
Its modes
- HOME
- Pick one of 24 synthesis models and set HARMONICS, TIMBRE, MORPH and transposition while watching the output scope.
- SCL
- Set the FM, TIMBRE and MORPH attenuverters that send the internal decay envelope to those parameters.
- FX
- Shape the low-pass gate with DECAY and COLOUR and set the OUT/AUX mix and stereo spread.
- ENV
- Dial the ADSR envelope that every note starts and that feeds the modulation matrix.
- LFO
- Set the rate and shape of both LFOs and switch note sync on or off.
- EDIT
- Build eight modulation routes, each a source, a destination and a depth.
- GLO
- Set glide, bend range, fine tune, the MIDI channel and legato.
- SAVE
- Choose one of the sixteen flash slots and write the current preset to it.
