What FMDj does
- FMDj runs Game Boy music programs inside the FM-1: LSDj the tracker and DMGo! the drum machine.
- You bring your own LSDj or DMGo ROM, and the install page puts it into the firmware over USB.
- One program is on the FM-1 at a time; install the other to change.
- PLAY starts the program and acts as START, and SEQ acts as SELECT.
- The SELECT and ALGORITHM knobs move left, right, up and down, as do the HOME, ARP, SCL and SAVE buttons.
- The top F and G keys are A and B, and holding the top F while turning a knob changes a value.
- DMGo's sixteen steps sit on the sixteen white keys, and LSDj's screen shortcuts are the PRESETS knob with OCT- and OCT+.
- REC held for a second saves to the FM-1's flash, and PLAY after power-on loads that save.
Its modes
- The menu (GLO)
- Press GLO to open a menu over the lower half of the screen for screen colours, the status bar and emulator options while the music plays on.
- The status bar
- Turn it on to see FPS, CPU and GAPS under the picture, plus the name of any emulator option left off.
