What Acultur8 X0X does
- A 909, an 808, two 303s and a breakbeat player all run at once in stereo.
- Each part plays its own pattern from 32 slots, up to 64 steps, with its own length and rate.
- TB-3PO writes whole 303 lines for you, and one press mutates about a quarter of the steps.
- The break is a loop cut into eight slices that a generator rearranges, with slices you can pin to steps or hold and play.
- Record knob moves while the pattern runs, lock single steps to their own sound, and give any step a chance or a cycle.
- Chain patterns on HOME or arrange up to 192 bars into a song, recording pattern changes and mutes as they pass.
- One reverb and one tape or digital delay take sends from every part, under a master drive, compressor, pump and filter.
Its modes
- HOME
- Pick patterns for all five parts, mute parts, and reach the live knobs TEMPO, SWING, FILTER and PUMP.
- SEQ
- Write and edit the selected part's steps, with its LENGTH and RATE, plus DIRECTION and TRANSPOSE on a 303.
- EDIT
- Shape the selected part's sound, and hold a step while turning a knob to give that step its own value.
- TB-3PO
- Generate 303 lines, set density, accent, slide, octaves, root and scale, then press OCT+ for a new line or OCT- to mutate.
- SONG
- Arrange up to 192 bars, setting each part's pattern and mutes per bar, and record changes live.
- FX
- Set the reverb's decay and tone and the delay's time, feedback, tone and tape character.
- PARTS
- Mix the five parts, each with LEVEL, PAN, REV and DLY on the knobs.
- 909 MIX
- See all eleven 909 track levels at once and set the picked track's level, pan and sends.
- MASTER
- Drive, compress, pump and filter the whole mix while watching the output and gain reduction.
- GLOBAL
- Set MIDI, audio, lights, theme and project options, and save, clear or reset.
