What fm1-midi-bridge does
- This firmware replaces the synth engine and makes the FM-1 a bridge between its TRS input, USB and Bluetooth.
- Every route can be switched off, filtered or remapped to one channel, and told whether to pass clock and SysEx.
- The 27 keys and the knobs send notes and control changes, with octave, channel and velocity set on the Keyboard page.
- The Recorder captures incoming events with their timing and replays them to USB, Bluetooth or both, once or looped, as a scratch looper.
- A clock master drives an arpeggiator or drum app from 20 to 300 bpm, with start and stop.
- The MIDI log decodes what passes, the Composer sends single messages by hand, and Statistics reports what a connected device actually sends.
- Four preset slots snapshot every setting, and changes store a second later and survive power cycles.
- USB is class compliant with no driver, Bluetooth advertises as "FM-1 MIDI", host mode connects to a Bluetooth keyboard, and a browser editor sets everything.
Its modes
- Status
- Watch the USB and Bluetooth links, the port counters and all six routes at a glance.
- Perform
- Read the stage view in a large font and shift the keyboard octave with OCT- and OCT+.
- Routing
- Switch each of the six routes on or off and open its channel, clock and SysEx options.
- MIDI log
- Read the last messages as raw bytes or decoded text, scroll back, freeze and hide message kinds.
- Composer
- Build one message by hand, send it to USB or Bluetooth and keep four favourites.
- Statistics
- See counts by message kind, note and velocity range, incoming tempo and which channels carry anything.
- Recorder
- Record incoming events with their timing and play them back once or looped.
- MIDI reference
- Scroll a pocket reference of status bytes, controllers, note numbers and the device inquiry exchange.
- Clock master
- Send MIDI clock at a tempo you set, with start when it runs and stop when it stops.
- Keyboard
- Set how the keys play: channel, octave, velocity and source, program and bank, knob control changes.
