What FM1_IGLOO_OSR does
- Each place you reach wakes the synth up in its own way, so walking is how you change the music.
- The synth voice holds subtractive, FM and plucked engines, a rhythm sequencer and a kick with sidechain.
- ENV switches the instrument between synth, kalimba and ice flute, and SCL changes the chord grid.
- K1 to K4 set the levels of the wind, the drone, the steps and the synth.
- EDIT, PLAY, SEQ and REC walk you in four directions, LFO is the action button and HOME takes you back.
- ALGORITHM sets the sky to a day and night cycle or a fixed sky, and PRESET picks the sound.
- A quest runs through it with a captain's journal, a lighthouse to relight, an ice flute, ten outfits and nine radio tapes.
Its modes
- The walk
- You cross a thirty by thirty ice field with Obsimo and the dog Seito, through day and night, while wind, drone and footsteps make the music.
- The igloo
- You go back home, where the synth lives.
- Fishing
- You fish at a hole that bites on the beat.
- The ice cave
- You play a cave of tuned icicles.
- The forest
- You brush pines that ring as you pass.
- The lighthouse
- You turn the lighthouse by playing.
- The ice rink
- You glide across the ice instead of walking.
