What fm1-boardwalk does
- Boardwalk turns the FM-1 into a seaside arcade of eighteen music game cabinets you walk between.
- OCT− and OCT+ or SELECT move along the row, PLAY steps up to a cabinet, and HOME walks back out.
- Inside a game, PLAY starts and stops a round, the keys play it, and KNOB 1 picks the level or mode.
- Games cover ear training, rhythm and melody: name notes by ear, find a chord's notes, play back rhythms and songs.
- The Bells cabinet rings change ringing methods including Plain Bob, Grandsire, Kent Treble Bob and Cambridge Surprise.
- Each game keeps its best score, and finished rounds pay tickets for playing well and on harder levels.
- Prizes you trade for sit on the boardwalk's rail, and two of them change the boardwalk itself.
- Over USB, Boardwalk tells the FM-1 Screen Reader the cabinet in front, each game's screen and its knobs as they turn.
Its modes
- Boardwalk
- Walk the row of cabinets with OCT− and OCT+, set the sea with KNOB 1 and the cabinets' tunes with KNOB 2.
- Prizes
- Trade your tickets for sixteen prizes laid out on the white keys, pressing PLAY to make the trade.
- Striker
- Ring the bell by striking as the swinging pointer passes the mark you were asked for.
- Moles
- Whack moles as they pop up from the keys, turning a good run into a tune.
- Balloons
- Hold a key to pump a balloon and let go on the ring before it pops.
- Tiles
- Play songs on falling tiles, including Ode to Joy, Für Elise and Greensleeves.
- Gull
- Fly a gull through the pier's posts by flapping, holding to climb, or singing your height.
- Ducks
- Shoot a gallery of ducks by playing the note each one quacks.
- Teacups
- Tap on the waltz's beat to spin your cup as it keeps speeding up.
- Fortune
- Ask Barnaby Brass a question in notes and get an answer in a tune and a card.
