What Dungeon Tracker does
- Four tracks play FM drums, two-operator FM voices, Ambika style wavetables, a C64 chip voice and sampled kits.
- The tracker sequencer writes steps as rows with velocity, chance, ratchets, nudge, locks and SPEED, LOOP and PITCH commands.
- DICE rolls whole sounds and VARY rolls pattern variations, and you hold the dice you want to keep.
- Each track is played by a class that sets its voices and the sounds it can load, twelve points in all.
- Six patterns live on the white keys and arrange into a song, with REC capturing a live pattern jam.
- Switch on DUNGEON and the song fights the corridor, cutting a track from the mix when its adventurer falls.
- External keyboards and sequencers play the four tracks over USB or the TRS input, with clock sync and a web editor.
Its modes
- HOME
- You watch the first-person dungeon corridor while the party walks one square per beat with your song.
- EDIT 1
- You set the first four knobs of the track's engine, such as TONE, KIT, WAVE or OSC.
- EDIT 2
- You set the engine's second group of four knobs, such as BODY, FEEL, FLTR or MOD.
- DICE
- You roll each part of an FMTONE, FMKIT or CHIP sound, holding the dice you want to keep.
- MORPH
- You blend the track's sound toward another preset of the same engine by amount.
- TRACKER
- You write steps as rows top to bottom, with note, velocity, chance, ratchet, nudge and command columns.
- VARY
- You roll variations of the selected track's pattern with dice for hits, notes, shift, ratchets, accents and chance.
- PATTERNS
- You hold ENV to pick, copy, queue and clear the six patterns on the white keys.
- SONG
- You arrange the six patterns into sections per track, or record an arrangement by jamming pattern switches.
What Les checked
Dungeon Tracker v1.0.0Scanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file is exactly the one its author published
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.
