What DRIFT does
- DRIFT is an ambient instrument with two oscillators, eight voices and classic synth sounds, warm basses, pads and plucks.
- A repeating generative Euclidean sequencer sets bars, note count, duration and probability, and the loop plays back identically each lap.
- Direction, interval, chaos and timing variation reshape the melody in the chosen scale while the playhead keeps running.
- Delay offers Classic, Ping Pong and Reverse up to four bars, and reverb offers Room, Spring, Hall, Space, Shimmer and Submarine.
- You play the live keyboard with OCT\u2212 and OCT+ shifting three octaves either way, and PLAY starts and stops the loop.
- A resonant filter, ADSR envelope and assignable LFO shape every patch, with root, scale and note range saved alongside.
- Stop playback and press SAVE to name a patch of up to twelve characters in one of 32 user slots.
- Three sample slots hold about 7.38 seconds each, loaded over USB-MIDI, and incoming MIDI follows the scale setting.

What Les checked
DRIFT v0.9.1Scanned October 31, 2026
What we checked for
- The file is exactly the one its author published
- It's the same file we saw when this release first came out
- It opens cleanly as an FM-1 firmware, nothing damaged
- It doesn't show up on your computer as a keyboard, mouse or other input device
- It doesn't show up as a USB drive or network adapter
- Its text mentions no computer command tools, like PowerShell, Terminal or a download command
What we found
- MIDI and audio, as expected
- A serial port, which many FM-1 firmwares keep for debugging. It can't type into your computer.
