What DREADNOUGHT does
- Ten instruments cover Reese bass, a dirty mono synth, two break players, two samplers, six-operator FM, wavetable and a Juno-style polysynth.
- Eight tracks each hold eight patterns of up to 64 steps, with per-step note, length, velocity, conditions, retrigs and chords.
- Record live at the nearest step with a click and count-in, or step by step while stopped.
- Break tracks slice loops in time, chop them MPC-style by hand, and carry per-hit effects like stretch, stutter and tapestop.
- SONG chains rows of patterns across all tracks for an arrangement of up to 64 rows.
- Two effect slots feed from each track's sends, offering delays, reverbs, filter, phaser, chorus, crush, ring and drive.
- SAVE keeps sounds, patterns, slices, song and layout, and it all comes back at power-on.
- The web editor over USB sends loops, samples, DX7 banks and Serum wavetables, and stores whole projects on your computer.
Its modes
- HOME
- See all eight tracks with their instruments and sounds, open one, or pick a new instrument for it.

- DRUM
- Lay slices or sampler pads across the steps on a grid, with length, swing and the steps in view.
- BRK
- Set a break's loop, pitch, decay and crush.
- SLICE
- Chop a loop by hand, hitting keys as it plays and nudging each chop with the cursor.
- FX
- Pick the two effects and set their values, with each track's sends and the returns on MIX.
- SETUP
- Set the click, its level, the count-in and velocity sensitivity, and change the screen's skin.
- MIDI
- Choose each MIDI track's channel, its overlap, and whether USB carries a stereo mix or ten channels.
- PROJECT
- Watch sample and effect memory and the CPU load, and name the project.
- SONG
- Build rows of patterns for every track, each lasting a set number of bars, and play them in turn.
