What AMB-1-Evolved does
- Generative ambient playing runs across four layers: pad, melody, bass and pulse.
- Hold ENV, ARP, LFO or SEQ and turn PRESETS to pick from 16 sounds per layer.
- PRESETS steps through 32 musical themes, the first eight being the familiar AMB-1 recipes.
- ALGORITHM picks one of 20 scales, and HOME plus ALGORITHM switches between the Garden, Walk, Mirror, Rotate and Gravity generators.
- PLAY starts or rests the generative playback, REC freezes the harmonic state while reverb rings on, and EDIT calls the next chord.
- The note keys add or remove tones from the note pool, and OCT minus and OCT plus shift the melody octave.
- A short press of SAVE stores all 32 theme states, and holding SAVE about 1.5 seconds resets the current theme to its recipe.
- A USB data cable connects the FM-1 to the computer, and MIDI out is set on the Setup page.
